Mr. Schorr's Page

Welcome!

Dear Parents,

I am very excited to be working with your son/daughter on his or her journey through grade six. Grade six is both an integral part of your child’s education and a fundamental stepping stone to ensuring they are successful as they continue their schooling in junior high and high school. I would like to take this time to briefly introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your son/daughter this semester.

My name is Victor Schorr and I will be your child’s grade six English, Social and Art teacher for the rest of the semester at W.G. Murdoch School. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by telephone, or email and am available for meetings before and after school.

Study Tips for Students

1. Come to class prepared to learn with an open mind and the intention/willingness to learn.

2. Stay focused on the task at hand as this will help you to be efficient. Don't distract others and don't let others distract you.

3. Persevere. Not every concept will be easy to learn, but the things that challenge us are the things that make us grow. Do not get discouraged or give up. Instead it is important to realize that learning is a process and you are not expected to know everything from the beginning. You are expected to give a 100% and stick with it. Mastery never comes over night.
